Meme fail, random update of death, etc.
Dec. 26th, 2009 05:25 pmI've been missing way too many days to attempt to catch up with the meme now. I do have a fairly short attention span for things that don't interest me...which makes me regret my master's degree choice even more. Oh well, the more I procrastinate on that the longer I'll receive government money to live abroad, which really amuses me to no end.
Spent Christmas holed up in my awesome apartment with the full series of The Big bang Theory, kroppkakor and Julmust and really couldn't have been much happier. I got Christmas greetings from my friends and those meant the world to me. I've gotten pretty used to spending the holidays alone but it's always nice to know people care. I went out and bought myself some Adidas bodywash that smells absolutely incredible as a Christmas gift to myself, and got some little things for a couple friends as well. Still have to distribute those but going to see a movie with the intended recipients on Monday so hopefully that'll take care of it.
There's a gay party on the 30th which I'm planning to attend if the anxiety doesn't get the best of me. I really want to go, just...not sure I'll be able to with all the other stuff going on. Will make a sincere attempt, though. Then there's NYE at DD's place, which will be awesome. I love spending New Years with her.
After that, I have about a week to get some schoolwork taken care of before I get to take a bus/train down to Lund to cash my student aid check and open an account at SEB. I'm actually really looking forward to that. I can't get a personnummer since they rejected my student residence permit before (yada yada, whole other entry, bureaucracy sucks and so on) but having a Swedish bank account will certainly help me out. I may even be able to get a Swedish ID card since those are apparently issued by banks here lol. I'll also have the chance to explore Lund a bit and see my school, which is something I've been wanting to do since I was admitted.
After that, I'll go to Malmö to apply for an extension of stay at the Migrationsverket office. Should be easy enough since I'll actually HAVE the money in an account this time, and more than enough to support myself for a year. They say the extensions are limited to three months but I'm hoping that once i explain the "I'm a fulltime student at Lund and was denied a permit since my aid money is disbursed once a semester rather than up front" they might allow me to stay through the summer. Even if not, I'll take the three months, go home and work a bit and then come back. Either way I should be granted some form of residence permit, even if it's not the one I was aiming for to begin with. Oh well, any way I can make it work, I will.
So, yeah. Some stressful things on the horizon but I think I can handle them all right. I'm actually a little excited about going south for a few days. I adore Pite but this wanderer is starting to get itchy feets a little bit. XD
