5. December 22nd, 2008: The Golden Bar, Lycksele, Sweden. I went here with DD and her friends and had decidely un-Swedish food: Kebab pizza. It was good though.

6. March 18, 2009: Eddie's Rocket Cafe, O'Connell Street, Dublin, Ireland. This is Dublin's version of a 50s diner. It was awesome. lol

7. July 3rd, 2009: Sneaky Pete's, LeClaire, Iowa. I went here with my aunt and it was pretty good, although the drunken wench who followed us around complaining about smoking laws kinda killed the mood. lol

4. Chicken in Mushroom Sauce. This was great. Chicken breasts in the crock pot with a large can of half-diluted cream of mushroom soup, with chopped onions. I let it cook for ten hours and it was great.

5. Sweet & Sour Chicken. This turned out well, although I wish I'd had some good rice to serve it with. Just put some chicken pieces and onions in sweet and sour sauce in the crockpot all day.

6. Greek Skillet Meal. I love this and will totally make it again. I browned beef and onions in the skillet, then added tomatoes, green beans, feta, penne and some spices, and let it cook for about ten minutes. Easy and om nom nom.

February 2008: February 2008's item is a Planet Podcast t-shirt (and stickers, but the shirt's the primary purchase).
March 2008: I found some Dukes shoes at the thrift store across the street. They were only 2 dollars, and I love them.
April 2008: I forgot to update this when I got it, but on the 27th I bought myself a few new t-shirts.
May 2008: New pants!
June 2008: I bought the novel The Beach.
July 2008: bought a cool necklace for myself.
August 2008: Bought Rudy, one of my absolute favorite movies, on DVD for 5 bucks.
May 18th, 2009: I have absolutely sucked at updating this, but I've been keeping up with it. Mostly the items purchased were t-shirts at thrift stores or discount books from bookstores, but hey, it works. This month's item(s) included two pairs of shoes and a nice Abercrombie shirt that I found for a buck. lol
June 2008: Kind of expensive, but I went ahead and got both myself and DD tickets to go to L6 in September. lol

Been doing this for quite awhile, mostly because I'm poor but more because I don't really see the point in spending on brand new stuff when older stuff will do. I've been shopping at Aldi and SuperValu (when I was in Ireland) for food, thrift stores for clothes, and I'm gonna go to Payless to get myself a cheap pair of shoes to run/work out in. Yay cheapness.

I got some really nice new glasses on Thursday, and they make me look really good. In fact I was just in the bathroom and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, and I thought I actually looked pretty.

Also, I've been doing at least a hundred stairs a day (it's 20 steps from my apartment to ground level so that one's pretty simple, just up and down five times) and I can feel my legs getting a little firmer. I'm not anywhere close to what I want to look like yet but I'm trying.

I'm really trying. I've been forcing myself to come out of my room and hang out with my roomies in the kitchen most days, and I've had dinner with them a few times. I went out for drinks with Al and I was scared to death of that before. I've signed up for a tour with a few other people and I'm going to a pub meet for the people on the BUNAC visa. I've gone to a uni here and took a short campus tour and met with a lady about hosting exams.

It's hard but once I actually get out of the house I'm usually fine.

This one is gonna take awhile, but at least I've started it, lol. [profile] darknessdee is helping me not be stupid and told me about this site called w3schools.com a few weeks ago. I'm just lazy and didn't really start working on it until today. I still haven't gotten far, but any progress is good progress for me when it comes to this stuff. I'll update this when I feel I've made any substantial progress.
