Well, it looks like I might have finally gotten some things figured out. I got a part-time job at the Walgreen's across the street, and it sounds good. Evenings and weekends, which is fine since I'll have no problem getting home. Those hours will also make it possible for me to take a work-study job for the semester. And I'm excited to get back into academia again.

I'm also going to be attending Western Illinois University this coming spring. I'll have my transcript in more than enough time to get it there, so I'm going to. After that's taken care of, I have to earn 30 credit hours there in order to get the degree. So, if I take 18 the first semester, and see if I can squeeze in 12 over the summer, I'll be done by next fall. I'm really excited about it, since that means I can go to grad school all the sooner.

I've decided that I'd like to do any postgraduate work abroad. Mostly because I want out of America anyway. Of course I'm not crazy enough to try it in a place like France or Spain, where I'd have to learn another language, but the University Of Glasgow (Scotland, duh) has a Medieval Archaeology program that makes my nerdy heart race when I read about it. I figure I've only got one life, so why not go ahead and try it? Sure it'll be a little more expensive than staying in the states, but if I live my entire life going by the "right" thing to do I'll be miserable.

I'm thinking of trying to get a work visa of some sort before my program would begin. If I finish my undergrad over the summer or even next December, I can't begin there anyway until the fall term. Summer graduation would be way too late to be admitted for the coming year. That means I'll have a ton of time to sit on my hands, so to speak. I'd much rather be over there working if I can.

I'm thinking of doing one of those home-study degrees in Pharmacy Assisting. I figure it'll give me an option if I do wind up overseas before my program starts, and even if I don't, they make pretty sweet money at Walgreen's doing that. So I might as well go ahead and do it, right?

Sorry, I know this update is incredibly boring. But I'm pretty boring, and this stuff is good news on my end. And now I have to go get poked and prodded and asked a thousand questions by my doctor.
