It always fascinates me how quickly things can change. A week ago I was depressed and lamenting everything, but right now I'm feeling really really good.
I got a job at Blockbuster. For those of you following, this was the third time I'd interviewed there, and I wasn't holding out much hope. So I was pleasantly surprised when the manager called me yesterday. I had five hours of training this afternoon, and I just walked in the door after picking out my five free rentals for the week.
Now, getting a job at a place like Blockbuster probably isn't too impressive to most people. Hell, I'll be working with high schoolers. But you know what? After years of fast food, I think I'll really like it. And as I mentioned, five free rentals a week, which is more than nice. I get to see pre-streets, too, so I can see movies before they're released to the public. I think I need a computer with a bigger hard drive for all the burning I'll be doing.
School's sounding pretty good, too. I should easily be able to pay off ISU in time to get my transcripts sent off by spring, but even if I don't, there's nothing wrong with community college for a year. Hell, it'll be a sort of vacation. And I get a work-study job out of it, which is really nice. 15 hours a week in the library...can't go wrong with that. So, with Western Illinois possible by spring, I'm good to go.
All in all, life's looking up.
