Things are actually going well for once

School is going really well. I'm doing great in my classes, and I was given permission to take Maps and Mapping, which is yay. I love cartography a lot.

I have an idea for a novel.

I have money for once in my life. It's only $5,000 now after buying my laptop and taking care of rent and bills and things, but to me, that's a fortune.

I have a best friend whom I love very much. And I think I might be starting to believe that she might feel some form of tolerance for me.

I have things set to go to Scotland. I don't have a job or a place as yet, but most people that arrive through this visa program don't. I have more than the required 1,000 GBP to get set up. All I need is my prior entry clearance visa to arrive from Chicago. I also need to sell the desktop I'm typing this on, and a lot of my clothes. But aside from that and a few other tiny things, I'm ready. I even got a reference letter from my bank, so I can set up a bank account in Edinburgh. I have two friends there already.

My family isn't upset about my going, not even my grandfather. He was at first, but now he's being supportive. it's a nice change.

I feel pretty good. It's cooled off a lot here, so that always helps me. My blood sugars have been good lately. And even that sore I can't explain doesn't really hurt anymore. It's still there, but it doesn't bother me, and after the past week or so of it stinging to high hell it's nice that it doesn't. Yes, I'm going to my doctor before I leave for Scotland. lol.

I want to believe in this. I don't want to be constantly afraid it'll be taken away from me. I don't want to be afraid to be happy for once.

Maps are fun because...well, they just are, dammit. They're also quite pretty. Old ones anyway. I love them, and I think it's cool to make them. I want to learn how. I don't think this class actually teaches cartography in the sense I'd like to learn it, I think it's more like mapping terrain and whatnot. But it's something, so it works fine for me.

And I know! When I move, it's only 87 pounds to come see you. That's ridiculously cheap and is very very yay.
