I fainted on the bus again
Sep. 10th, 2008 08:51 pmlol. It's not as bad as it sounds.
Since I've been on the increased dosage of one of my meds, I haven't been feeling so hot. Well, actually, I'm feeling better in some ways but much worse in others. Explain that one, pharmacist guy.
Anyway, the medicine helps to lower blood sugar and yada yada. The first couple weeks make most poeple sick as a dog, however, which is always lovely. I haven't been eating much at all because i keep getting sick...which is probably why it lowers the blood sugar! lol.
Anyway, that's not why I fainted. I was feeling sorta under the weather when I left the house to go see about getting traveler's checks to take to Scotland, and I ended up leaving my insulin at home. Normally it wouldn't have been a big deal, but since I already felt like shit, it made me feel worse. I got some food because even though I'm sick i know i need to eat, and that was a horrible idea. I spent the next five hours feeling like i was constantly going to be ill.
I found out that the traveler's checks are more hassle than they're worth. Since they'd be from an American bank and would be in American dollars, if I try to cash them in Scotland it'll take up to six weeks and give me a ton of fees to pay. I can get them in sterling, but that takes up to a month for the bank to do, so fuck it. I emailed the visa program and I'm going to see if I need to have that money physically on me when I enter the country or if I can bring bank statements. I'll have my debit card, and I'm gonna bring SOME cash. But I don't want to chance taking over 2K in pounds and having it get stolen. If I HAVE to have it on me, I'm getting a money belt thing so I can put it all under my shirt. Scotland is actually really safe so I should be fine, but still.
Anyway, yeah. I felt like shit after I left the bank, so I decided to go home after I bought my headphones. That was all well and good, but sometime on the hour long bus ride, i fainted. I dont know how long I was out, but a really loud girl was poking at me when I woke up. The driver asked me if he needed to call an ambulance, but I said no. I got off the bus so I could switch to another one, and as I waiting for it, I got really sick. lol. Anyway, I was out of it the rest of the way home.
I felt like a heroin addict when I got home and was able to take my insulin. I'm still feeling crappy because of the meds, but at least I'm not fainting and wandering around in a daze anymore.
