Only one more day to go
Dec. 14th, 2006 09:19 pmand I'll be done with the semester! Yay. I have an exam tomorrow morning (which I should of course be studying for, but I'm not), and that's it. I get to join the corporate world after that, and it feels like it's been a long time coming. I have an interview for a phone sales position on Tuesday morning. Sounds horrible, right? I thought so too, but upon further observation it doesn't seem too bad. I'd be selling ad space business to business for eleven bucks an hour, which is a pretty decent wage for an entry level job in this area. I'll also be eligible for full medical, dental and vision benefits after 90 days, which would be nice considering I haven't seen an endocrinologist since I was covered by Illinois State University insurance two years ago. There's also the possibility of some commission bonuses if I sell enough.
I'm more happy for the fact that it'll be during the day, thus ensuring reliable public transportation, than I am the pay. I'm weird, though.
I've been working on my fanfic You since I got home late this afternoon, and don't have much more than a page. It's a tough section to write, since I'm trying to describe the five days that Alice spent in the hospital with Dana. I'm trying to come up with things for her to do so she doesn't completely lose it. And I'm making up my own explanation for Dana's sudden love of M&Ms. Dana's also going to be talking to Helena about Alice...yeah, I'm a closet Helacious fan and will be throwing some elements of that in. I'm also making Dana not as stupid and dense as the show writers did. It's tough to write, though, because I've been there before and I know how surreal it can feel. It's hard to capture that in writing.
I've been putting some serious consideration into starting another journal in which I'll babble happily about nothing but The L Word. Recaps, critiques, yada yada yada. Yeah, it's been done ad nauseum, but I'm bored and it'll give me something to do when I can't sleep.
In that area - I FUCKING HEART ROSE ROLLINS. She's playing Alice's new love interest, Tasha Williams, in case you weren't aware. After looking her up on the greatness that is Google, I found out that she's going to be playing Betty Davis in a Miles Davis-focused movie coming out next year. Yay. She was also in a documentary about making documentaries that's utterly fabulous. And, she's ridiculously hot. So is Leisha Hailey, and the new promo has them both being so shyly adorable it kills me. Le sigh.
