mutedtempestWell, the job that paid next to nothing is over. Not surprising considering it was through a temp agency to begin with, but it still kinda sucks. I really wouldn't have minded getting hired on permanently, but I guess it just wasn't in the cards. Oh well, I've made my peace with it. And at least this way there's the possibility I might be able to make a little more money. I've been filling out applications like it's going out of style.
I have two interviews on Tuesday the 3rd, one at the Kmart here in Moline and another at the auditing firm I mentioned in my last entry. I'd much rather get the auditing job, but frankly I'd be fine with either. I'm spending an hour a day between now and then (so, since I did it starting Thursday, that's 5 days) practicing my MS Office skills, since those were mentioned in the job description for the auditing firm. The lady I spoke to, that I'll be interviewing with, said that the company's use of Office is pretty basic, so I should be fine. I do still have my computer textbooks detailing the more complicated stuff, though, so I figure it won't hurt to at least go over it a little beforehand.
School-wise, I'm still a little bummed, but not half as much as I was before. When I really thought it over, I realized that one semester off isn't the end of my academic world, and I'll have ISU paid off by winter anyway, so the springtime should be no problem. And I can always go to either the business school in town or take online classes at a community college across the river if I really need to. I think, purely for the sake of getting financial aid, that I will. I'm going to tour the business school next week, and already applied for the juco online.
So, yeah. Life's not great, but I guess it could be a lot worse. At least my diabetes seems to have stopped giving me shit for the time being.
