David Lynch

I've recently been introduced to his work, and while it's surrealistic and weird as fuck, I'm in love with it. I watched a very strange series called Rabbits and am still trying to figure it out. I so love independent film.

It's made me reconsider writing my novel. I have several ideas, but none of them are very mainstream in nature. I like to try to deal with surrealism, but I'm so scared that I won't do it well and it'll end up jumbled, pretentious and stupid. I've often thought that I should just go ahead and sell out, writing trashy romance novels fixated almost solely on the description of physical characteristics and euphemisms for various body parts. Granted, I feel I'm above that caliber of trash, but at the same time...Danielle Steele's a fucking zillionaire. Thus comes the challenge to my own morals: sell out with what I know is crap, or stick to my guns and be forever poor in this little writing game? Oh, the humanity.

In other news, I've been watching Ally McBeal reruns a lot lately. The show was pretty retarded, but the little dancing baby cracks me the fuck up, and Fish and Cage make me want to seriously consider facing my own antisocial demons and just going to law school although I know I'd hate it. Me, litigate? Ha. Not so much. I'd kick major ass at Estates and Trust law, though. At least I think I would, I have a thing for remembering teeny tiny details. Just not arguing them.

I guess I'll have to see if I can finally get my old school paid off and my new school to give me a bachelor's first, though.

DON'T DO IT!

I say this on the brink of my impending graduation from law school (in T minus 6 hours actually)...DONT DO IT! Law school that is. I mean, you don't have to be a good litigator to be a lawyer, about 90% of lawyers never step foot inside a courtroom while they practice. But still, law school is basically a very expensive, very timely torture device that lasts 3 years and carries on into the rest of your life. Wow, am I really that cynical about it? Anyway, I loved Wills, Trusts & Estates. There's something about knowing your client is already dead so you won't have to deal with their bitching when you probate their will that makes life a lot easier. Lol, I'm such a bitch. Ta for now.
