Book: I find it far easier to name authors than books, save one. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas has been my favorite since I was 12, and I don't see that changing any time soon. It's just such an incredible novel. I also adore most anything by Tolkien, Rand, Salinger, Kerouac, etc. Big lit nerd.
Quote:
We must declare ourselves, become known; allow the world to discover this subterranean life of ours which connects kings and farm boys, artists and clerks. Let them see that the important thing is not the object of love, but the emotion itself.
Gore Vidal
I've pretty much based my life on this quote. Vidal is a brilliant man and I think what he says here applies to so many things. It just so happens to fit perfectly with my sexuality and the way I see the world, and really helped me when I was growing up bisexual in a world of straights and gays. It helped me to know that I have nothing to be ashamed of and that loving does not make me more or less, it just makes me human.
